Queva is a free AI study companion built for Nigerian university students. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, how it is used, and what rights you have over it. Plain language only.
01 Who We Are
Queva is a personal project developed and maintained by Obinna Egenti. The app is live at obinna18.github.io/QUEVA. For privacy-related questions, contact queva.app@gmail.com.
02 What We Collect
We only collect what is necessary to make Queva work.
When you sign in with Google:
- Your name and email address
- Your Google profile photo
- A unique user ID from Firebase Authentication
When you use the app:
- Your study questions and conversation history — stored in Firestore so Queva remembers your context across sessions
- Notes, flashcards, quiz results, or any content you create inside the app
- Study alarm settings (topic and time)
Automatically collected:
- Basic browser and device info collected by Firebase — used only for app stability, not for profiling
03 How We Use Your Data
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure
- To give Queva memory so it can recall your study context across sessions
- To generate AI responses — your queries are sent to Groq's servers to produce answers via LLaMA 3.3-70B
- To improve app performance and fix bugs
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to any third party.
04 Third-Party Services
Queva relies on these services to function, each with its own privacy policy:

Processes your study queries using LLaMA 3.3-70B. Your messages are sent to Groq's servers to generate responses.

05 Data Retention
Your conversation history and profile data remain in Firebase Firestore for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, your data will be removed within 30 days.
06 Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time by contacting us or deleting your account

07 Data Security
We use Firebase Firestore security rules to ensure only you can read or write your own data. API keys are not exposed in client-side code. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.
08 Children's Privacy
Queva is designed for university students aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the app, email queva.app@gmail.com and we will delete their data promptly.
09 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Queva evolves. If changes are significant, we will notify users within the app. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most current version.
